Aspetuck Land Trust Buffer Gardens

Aspetuck Land Trust was awarded a Long Island Sound Futures Fund grant to plant 30 native plant buffer gardens in Bridgeport totaling 6,300 SF. The buffer gardens are designed to act as filter for water that flows from upland areas into the Sound.

A local landscape company will design and build each site according to habitat needs. They will be watered and maintained for the first year. ACCA members Rick Landau, Roger Ludwig, Jen Groves, Pete and Kate Spain are working with Reggy St. Fortcolin. Aspetuck Land Trust's new Conservation Outreach Manager, and Mary Ellen "Mel" Lemay, Aspetuck Land Trust's Landowner Engagement Director.
